Tonight we saw Sir Elton John at Werribee Park Mansion. It was an extremely good concert. Elton John entertained for 2.5 hours, bringing classics like “Candle in the Wind”, “Nikita” and “Crocodile Rock”. Apparently he flew his private jet from Sydney, then a helicopter from Melbourne airport and returned the same way. He was probably back in his hotel before we came home.
The logistics around Werribee were dreadful. The gates to the park opened at 4.30pm, the show started at 6pm and Elton Arrived at 7.50pm (10 minutes early). We left Melbourne at 5pm and what was planned to be a 30 minute drive, took us over 1.5 hours. There we people still queuing up for a parking-spot 30 minutes into Elton’s performance. One small road in and one out. We prepared to leave just before his last song and by doing so, we were one of the first to leave the park and we were second at KFC just after the Westgate Bridge for a mid-night snack.
