Adventures of a World Traveler…

Now that we have settled in quite good in Singapore, I started looking into traveling in the region. Obviously Kuala Lumpur stand very high on my list of places to (re-)visit. I remember there was one bus-service a few years ago, but I found that there have been several improvements to the connection between these 2 Asian capitals. I found 2 different bus companies that provide first-class luxury coach transportation for a very reasonable price. Both Bus Malaysia’s Aeroline and Transtar Travel. These companies provide similar services as you would expect in a plane for this 5 hour road journey for about S$50 to S$60 one-way. Transtar is probably the most luxurious of the two, with only 16 seats in the first-class bus, in-seat entertainment and on-demand movies and massage chairs, but the Aeroline is definitely traveling like in business-class. Both have a stewards on board and serve food and beverages. Obviously you can travel economy-class as well, which will take you one-way for about S$25.

Now we only have to decide when to go and book.

I travel a bit to KL by bus as well and do use these 2 companies mentioned, though I think NICE bus has the best service despite the busses not as new :)

Well, yesterday I finally booked the trip to KL. I have decided to take the 16 seat first class luxury coach from Transtar. Next step, book a hotel… Will wait to see where 2 of my good friends from melbourne end up relocating to KL and plan to combine this tourist trip with a visit to them.
