Yesterday we joined the Australian and New Zealand Association in Singapore. Apart from a magazine and some helpful “New Members” information, we still have to see what the benefits are. Although Olivia has already made some friends through their social events. The membership is reasonable (S$60), not outrageously high as the membership to one of the Dutch Club’s in Singapore (I think the one for business men, not the normal one).
It’s one of the larger associations in Singapore with several thousand members, mostly Australia and New Zealand, but also Brittan, USA and even Holland (the ones that can’t afford the membership to their own club). The focus is on networking and socialising, creating a platform not only for the people that come here to work, but maybe more specifically their family members they bring along.
ANZA was established in 1948 and since 1961 have a full-time manned office in the city.

Sorry, I have been told by one of the members to get the statistics right. There’re several hundred (1500) memberships, but several thousand (6000) members. Apparently memberships are on family level and an average family has 4 members. But still, I’m happy to be one of the 1500 paying memberships.
