In the last week I have written about the countless parks in Singapore, including the Southern Ridges, as well as about land reclamation like The Marina Bay. Now I assume all of you know that Singapore is actually an island, so you might think, what’s with the tropical white sand beaches with palm trees along it’s coast.
Well, because of the continuous land reclamation, there’re not too many natural beaches left in Singapore. Most beaches are man-made and don;t have the charm you’d expect from a tropical paradise. The best chance you have is actually on one of the many islands in front of the Singapore coast, like Sentosa.
The oldest beach on the mainland is Changi Beach in the North-East. The whole west coast of Singapore, closest to where we live, is all port and industry and apart from a small beach at West Coast Park, there’s nothing.
