Yes, we got the official Statutory Declaration under the Oaths & Declaration Act Chapter 211 of Singapore yesterday! Quite an adventure, but we selected a Commissioner of Oath from the Yellow Pages by the name of Andrew Ee. It was actually his assistant who called us back after we called outside of office hours.

Andrew was an absolute join to deal with and an amazing sports fan. With the Olympics coming up, you’ll have a hard time talking about anything else with him. But he followed through and provided us with the Statutory Declaration which we need to apply for a Long Term Social Visit Pass for Olivia. This way, she can stay the whole 12 to 18 months and doesn’t have to leave after her initial 90 days on the tourist visa.

We are extremely happy and kind of married (common-law husband and wife)! So, we celebrated at the local Thai restaurant Sakura around the corner.

@Shayan Sanyal – Thanks mate! I see somebody came to your help and provided you with a tip for accommodation in Hawaii! Say hi to Max and your parents and enjoy your holiday… It sounds really nice and at the moment I would kill for a glass of wine on a beach.

But I am looking forward to hosting my mum in Singapore this Friday… We’re making a trip to KL, nothing as tropical as Hawaii, but definitely worth the trip. Especially because we’ll be meeting with Troy & Barbara there, as well as some people I worked with previously.

My next beach holiday is not until Christmas, when we’re planning a short stay on Bali.
