Here’s a small introduction to my Travellog
This Travellog is designed to capture and store blog entries about trips and holidays. There are a few rules to keep in mind to take full advantage of the functionality of this website.

Adding Locations to Posts
1. It’s very important that when you add a post to your Travellog, you add the geographical location as detailed and close to real location as possible (full address if possible);
2. It’s important to use the categories to group posts (locations) that belong to one and the same trip (for example “worldtrip (2007)” or “Singapore (2008)”.

Locations and categories are used to display posts on a map (”Travel Map“). Categories group your posts together and link them with a polygon (routes) based on the time-line and sequence of when the entries were published. On the map, all icons and lines with the same color represent entries from one trip or holiday. The more entries you make, the more realistic the route of your holiday shows on the map. On the overview map, you’ll notice additional markers that represent hotels around the selected center of the map. When you move or drag the map around, these markers are automatically updated. With these markers, you can go directly to a website to book a stay.

Links to other Resources
1. You can add links to Wikipedia, YouTube, Google & Myspace videos, as well as Amazon products and Flickr photo’s which will show in a Snapshot preview;
2. You can upload photos & albums from Flickr directly and show them in your post as a thumbnail;
3. All Flickr photo’s will also show in the Travel Album section of your travellog;
4. There’s an index of all posts in the Travel Index;
5. You’ll also have the opportunity to add your posts to many of the available social networks like facebook and myspace.
6. There’s an interactive comments system as well as a rating system embedded in this blog. Please, make use of it and have your say about what I report. Either by leaving a message or just rate it using the 5 star system.

Photos
If you’re not using a Flickr account to store your photos, you can also upload them in this Travellog directly. My Flickr Albums are available on Travel Album.

External Resources are an integral part of this Travellog. I suggest you add as many links to Wikipedia and Flickr as possible. This way you keep the content of your entries personal and small, but still provide your readers with plenty of information and multimedia to enjoy.

But most importantly, I want you to have fun and give you the possibility to share your moments and adventures with friends & family around the world.
